Como ya deben haberlo adivinado, soy amante de los días soleados. Usar prendas ligeras y sentir la brisa caliente sobre mi cuerpo es una sensación que se compara con muy pocas. Haber nacido en una tierra cálida hace que los días de sol no sólo me hacen más productiva, sino que me proporcionan gran bienestar a todo nivel.
Mi outfit para este día tiene mucho de tropical, algo de urbano y todo de 'Mindful'. Siempre que veo un rayo de sol que se asoma, busco prendas alegres con colores vibrantes y en esta ocasión, una maxi falda estampada y un body de espalda descubierta son piezas súper apropiadas para días así (aunque usando unos jeans debajo de la falda y una chaqueta de cuero le darían un giro muy trendy también para días fríos). Complementé con unos tenis blancos, que es el toque urbano, y el hecho de que ahora esté en tendencia usar todo tipo de outfits con tenis es una bendición para mis pies, porque me gusta ir caminando a todas partes.
Lo que hace que el atuendo sea Mindful es que el body y bolso de cuero son de marcas hechas en Colombia y he comprobado su durabilidad porque me han durado varias temporadas y los he usado en varios posts. Sin embargo, de lo que más estoy orgullosa es de la falda: compré el pedazo de tela en descuento en mi tienda favorita de telas y mi abuelita la confeccionó (si, leyeron bien), haciéndola no sólo Mindful (por el hecho de que es un producto 100% colombiano y la modista fue muy bien remunerada, ya que ama los helados gigantes de Crepes and Waffles y le compré como tres), sino igualmente amigable con el presupuesto y el medio ambiente.
Yo se que no todas disponemos del tiempo para ir en busca de 'tesoros' a las tiendas de telas, ni modistas de confianza, pero mandar a hacer nuestras prendas cada vez que tenemos la oportunidad nos ayuda a ahorrar un poco, porque muchas veces pagamos por costos intangibles en las prendas cómo el departamento creativo y el posicionamiento de la marca. Adicionalmente, mejoramos nuestras habilidades creativas y sabemos que nos va a quedar a nuestra medida, siendo esto último una regla de oro para darle elegancia a los outfits.
As you guys may have guessed it already, I am in love with sunny days. Wearing lightweight pieces, and getting the warm breeze over my body is a feeling like not many others. Being born in a city with warm weather makes me not only more productive on hotter days, but give me overall wellbeing.
My outfit for today has lots of tropical, some of street, and everything of mindful. Every time I see a little sunshine, I go for bright and happy colors, and on this occasion, a printed maxi skirt and an open back bodysuit are super appropriate pieces for such days (although wearing jeans underneath the skirt and a leather jacket would give it a very trendy twist for cold days). Complemented the outfit with white sneakers which is the street touch, and the fact that wearing sneakers with everything is such a blessing because I like to walk everywhere.
The part that makes this outfit mindful is that the bodysuit and leather bag are from brands made in Colombia, and I have tested their durability, since I've worn them throughout many seasons and several blog posts. However, the part I am most proud of is the skirt: I bought the piece of fabric on discount at my favorite fabric store, and my grandma sew it for me (yes, you read that right), making it not only mindful (for the fact that the product is for sure 100% Colombian, and the manufacturer was very well paid since she loves Crepes and Waffles giant ice creams and I bought her like three), but also budget, and environmentally friendly.
I know not many of us have the time to go hunting for these kind of 'treasures" at fabric stores, not we have trustworthy dressmakers, but having our own clothing made whenever we get the chance helps us save some money, because in the price we pay, we're also paying intangible costs such as the creative department, and the status of the brand. Additionally, we are enhancing our creative skills, and we definitely know it's going to fit and look good on us, being the latter a golden rule when making our outfits look more expensive.
